The United Kingdom is set to progress with utilizing the entire amount of immobilized Russia's assets to support the Ukrainian war effort, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a joint statement, the heads of state of the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this coordinated action would heighten pressure on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and compel Russia to engage in negotiations.

They added that the decision would be carried out in strong partnership with the United States.

British sanctions have immobilized over £25bn of Russia's funds since the Russian government launched its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. Yet, up to this point, resources allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russian funds had only been taken from gains and dividends generated on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, France, and Germany were united in their aim to advance efforts toward using the complete amount of the seized Moscow's national holdings to end the war.
