19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial championship for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid year, managing just one win at the big events and undergoing a setback at the American major.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in especial - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-term trainer Cervara.

Now working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set win over challenger Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court since March of 2023.

Success also signifies he has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one various competitions.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters at once, so to get a title is really nice," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, comprising in Halle in the past months.

The player's defensive approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had prompted some to wonder if his capacity to compete at the top level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky opponent, winning 4 of the final five games to go ahead.

The competitors traded breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial tour victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.

Moutet defended four early break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, the winner secured victory with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
